The Hot and Humid Quarters at New Quarter Park
Ahoy, ye scallywags! Gather ’round and listen close as I regale ye with the latest escapade of the Putt Pirates on the sizzling greens of New Quarter Park. With the temperature soaring to 96 degrees and the air thicker than a sea dog’s stew, we were drenched in sweat before we even hoisted our discs. No wind in our sails, it was a scorcher, mates!
The Crew and Their Stations
The hearty crew present for this blisterin’ adventure were:
- Ship Captain Patrick McCormick: Our steadfast leader.
- Quartermaster Jasper Gutierrez: With a glint in his eye and a hunger for victory.
- Cook Mike Mui: Gaining skill and confidence with each throw.
- Boatswain Stefanie Bonsky: Reliable and ever-present.
- Master-at-arms Ernest Huizar: Ready to keep the peace and play the game.
- Helms-woman Megan Gilmore: Proving herself a powerful force on the fairway.
- Gunner Shelly Jackson: Precise and ever-accurate with the discs.
Absent from our ranks were:
- Surgeon Matt Payne: Was 86% sure he’d show until he got rode hard and put away wet the night before on Medic 10.
- Seamen Trevor Elam: Lost to puppy problems.
- Sailing Master Tommy Brosam: Attending to his daughter’s appointment.
- Derek Gundersen: MIA.
The Teams
The teams were divided randomly as follows:
- TEAM SHAT: Ship Captain Patrick McCormick and Gunner Shelly Jackson.
- TEAM MUIGAN: Cook Mike Mui and Helms-woman Megan Gilmore.
- TEAM HUISKY: Master-at-arms Ernest Huizar and Boatswain Stefanie Bonsky.
- Quartermaster Jasper Gutierrez: Sailing solo, acting as his own “player 2.”
The Battle Begins
Quartermaster Jasper came off the first tee like a cannonball, parking his shot for a swift birdie. But by hole 3, he lamented that he had “blown his whole powder keg on hole one.” The rest of the crew worked the kinks out of their arms by the third hole, sending bombs down the fairway.
“I think I blew my whole powder keg on hole one.”
Quartermaster Jasper
TEAM SHAT and Jasper stayed neck and neck throughout the round. Cook Mike Mui showed remarkable improvement, his throws finely tuned and flying true down the fairway. Helms-woman Megan Gilmore proved herself a ringer, launching powerful drives.
Quartermaster Jasper’s long putts kept him in the game, often forgetting he had a second player option and leaving the tee pad without taking his second shot. The heat was getting to all of us, mates!
The Final Showdown
On the final hole, TEAM SHAT and Jasper were tied at +4. A putt-off ensued, with all three members making ridiculous putts. But in the end, it was Ship Captain Patrick who emerged victorious, taking the number 1 tag. Quartermaster Jasper settled for 2, and Gunner Shelly Jackson climbed to 3.
The Tale’s End
‘Twas a day of fierce competition under the blazing sun. Despite the heat, laughter and camaraderie prevailed. The crew’s skills are sharpening, and the introduction of new blood like Megan Gilmore is promising for our future voyages.
Fair winds and following seas, me hearties! Until next time, keep yer eyes on the prize and yer hands on the discs!
