🏴☠️ Captain’s Log | June 24, 2025 | Sanctioned Round #4 | Newport News Park, VA VA
Blisterin’ heat, sweat-soaked shirts, and more tag drama than a middle school cafeteria — the latest round at Newport News Park was nothin’ short of legendary. With the sun beatin’ down like an angry sea cook and the trees offerin’ no shade (or mercy), five bold pirates took to the course to fight for glory, honor, and braggin’ rights in the group chat.
⚔️ Format: Shorts & Singles
Conditions: 93°F, zero breeze, full sass. Game modifier: survival.
🧭 Player Report:
- Tommy Brosam (-2) 🏆 – Absolute fire. Took the heat and turned it into fuel, burnin’ through the course like he had ice in his veins and rocket fuel in his bag. Word is he nailed the big tree on hole 9 and still made magic happen. When asked about his new throne, he simply said: “Just keepin’ my seat warm.”
- Jasper Gutierrez (+2) – Started the day with royal confidence, declaring he would “reclaim the throne” after a nap. Instead, he got dethroned. Again. Jasper later muttered, “Every dog has their day,” then went quiet and stared into the horizon.
- Shelly Jackson (+3) – Stayed right on Tommy’s heels the whole way, pressurin’ like a storm cloud ready to burst. Just a couple strokes shy of a mutiny. A fierce performance.
- Stef Bonskey (+13) – Survived the round with burnt shoulders, cursed birdies, and more tree hits than a lumberjack convention. Still smilin’ in the group photo though, sayin’, “Needless to say, it was a HOT one.”
- Mike Mui (+28) 😅 – Came in swingin’ with tortellini for dinner and nilaga for lunch, but the discs weren’t havin’ it. He aimed for the sky and nearly made contact. At least he played stylishly — word is he got robbed by two or three birdies.
🏆 Round Winner:
Tommy Brosam – A well-earned win in brutal conditions. Steady hands, strong throws, and the cold-hearted precision of a sea-born assassin. He now holds the crown.
🔺 Promotions:
Tommy takes the Captain’s title, officially unseating Jasper in what can only be called a Tag Coup.
🎤 Overheard in the Chat:
- “Just woke up from my nap. I shall reclaim my throne…” – Jasper
- “Naps are for the weak. I’ve been in the pool.” – Tommy
- “Truffle pizza, tortellini, and nilaga.” – Mike, who apparently plays like a chef and scores like a sous-chef.
- “Change of the gaurd.” – Jasper (before autocorrect rescued his honor)
The temperature wasn’t the only thing runnin’ hot that day. A new captain now steers the ship, but the sea is full of challengers. With standings shaken and tags exchanged like cursed treasure, only one thing’s for sure — next round’s gonna be wild.
