π·οΈ Bag Tag Rules
Tag Issuance
Bag tags are issued at the start of the season based on the order of membership.
Tag Exchange
Tags are exchanged each round based on scores, influencing end-of-season rankings.
Example:
Start of Round: Patrick (#1), Tommy (#10), Jasper (#5), Matt (#27)
End of Round Scores: Matt (-6), Tommy (-5), Jasper (-3), Patrick (+2)
Bag tags are redistributed as follows: Matt receives #1, Tommy receives #5, Jasper receives #10, Patrick receives #27.
Bag Tags After Doubles Round
Bag tags are still distributed by performance.
Example:
Team A scores -4 (Receives tags #1 and #3)
Team B scores -2 (Receives tags #5 and #7)
Team C scores higher (Retains tags #10 and #12)
π₯ Deciding Who Gets Which Tag:
The player who started with the lower tag gets the lower tag. For example if you and you partner were 6 and 9 and you win for the day, the player who began with 6 gets the 1 tag and the player with the 9 gets the 2 tags
π₯ Forgotten Bag Tags
Forgetting a tag means attendance is not counted, you cannot play for the dayβs prize and you are not in the running for tag exchange.
Lost Bag Tags
A $10 replacement fee applies if a bag tag is lost.
Penalties continue per round until the tag is replaced.
π₯ Hitting Another Player With A Disc Penalty
If you hit another player with a disc who is standing still (in other words, they didn’t walk in front of your throw), you will lose your attendance for the day.
π―ββοΈ DOUBLES
π Automatic Random Doubles Rounds
In the event that more than five players arrive to participate in a league round, the game format will switch to doubles (best disc). This ensures that everyone gets to play without having excessively large groups.
π₯ Doubles Are Chosen With Balanced Skills
Doubles are chosen with bag tags – If players arrive with tags 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, then the player with tag 1 is paired with 6, 2 is with 5, and 3 is with 4. If a player has no tag and is inexperienced, they will be assumed to have the highest number and be paired with the lowest. If a player who is experienced plays with us, they will be considered to be in the middle.
Odd Number of Players over Five
If an odd number of players over five arrive, while the rest form doubles teams, the odd player out will play using the “best disc” format.
In this format, the player will throw two discs per hole and play from the best lie, simulating a doubles play experience.
This format allows for flexibility and ensures that all participants have an engaging and competitive experience, regardless of the number of players who show up.
π PLUNDER
π― Round Competitions
Each Thursday round (unless otherwise noted) will feature a competition to win an item from the pirate booty chest. Prizes will include discs, T-shirts, gift cards, etc.
Examples of competitions are on the schedule and include:
Distance Drives
Putting Competitions
Round Winners
Closest to Pin
Best Specialty Throw
π End-of-Season Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for the following end-of-season achievements:
1 Bag Tag Finish
The person finishing with the #1 bag tag and an attendance of 5+ rounds will receive the prize. If the person with the #1 bag tag has fewer than 5 rounds of attendance, the prize is forfeited to the player holding the following lowest number bag tag who has attended 8 or more rounds. This rule prevents a player from securing the #1 bag tag early in the season and not participating in further rounds.
Final Tournament Winner
The final round of the season is considered a tournament round and will earn a prize for winning the round.
Most Wins
This title is awarded to the player with the greatest combined total of round wins and individual prize victories over the season. Example: Billy won 3 rounds and 2 prizes, his score is 5.
Best Attendance
The player with the highest documented attendance at the end of the season will receive a prize.
Voted Most Improved by the League
The league will vote on who was the most improved player over the season. The player deemed most improved is eligible for a prize.
Most Lost Discs During League Play
The player who lost the most discs during league play will win a prize. This light-hearted award acknowledges the rough patches in play with a bit of humor. A putting play-off will be a tiebreaker. Bear in mind the point for a lost disc goes to the owner of the disc not the thrower. This means that if Trevor borrows a disc from Jasper and loses the disc on a throw, it’s Jasper’s disc – he gets the point, NOT Trevor.
Recruitment Prize
The player who recruits the most other players to participate in league rounds, regardless of whether they join the league officially, will earn a prize. This encourages community growth and involvement. A putting play-off will be a tie breaker.
