Ahoy, me hearties! Gather ’round and lend yer ears to the tale of our latest adventure on the Hampton 9 course. ‘Twas a day filled with excitement, hazards, and fierce competition as we battled the elements and each other. Here’s the chronicle of our daring escapade.
The Crew Assembles
Under a clear sky, the pirate brigade gathered, ready to test their mettle on the Hampton 9. The teams were chosen at random, and the Master-at-arms, Ernest Huizar, drew the CTP hole from a hat, choosing Hole 1 as the battlefield for the prized disc.
Present that day were:
- Master-at-arms Ernest Huizar (with twin caddies)
- Boatswain Stef Bonsky
- Cook Mike Mui
- Quartermaster Jasper Gutierrez
- Ship Captain Patrick McCormick
- Helms-woman Megan Gilmore
- Sailing Master Tommy Brosam
- Gunner Shelly Jackson
Absent from our ranks were:
- Surgeon Matt Payne – His wee one took ill, so he be excused. He be playin’ nursemaid instead o’ slicin’ through the course.
- Derek Gundersen – Had to wrestle with a stubborn sea beast…or a car, as the landlubbers call it. We’ll give ‘im a half-hearted excuse, as he hasn’t officially joined our crew yet. If he keeps this up, we might have to Shanghai him into our ranks!
- Seamen Trevor Elam – AWOL, likely lost at sea or perhaps trapped in Davy Jones’ locker. If ye see ‘im, tell ‘im we still have his parrot and if he doesn’t show up soon we will shove it in his booty hole with the rest of his hidden treasure.
The teams were set as follows:
- Team Huijackson: Ernest Huizar & Shelly Jackson
- Team Bonmore: Stef Bonsky & Megan Gilmore
- Team McMui: Mike Mui & Patrick McCormick
- Team Brotierrez: Jasper Gutierrez & Tommy Brosam
The Battle Begins
With a hearty cheer, the crew set off on the first round, playing red to red. The course was alive with hazards – lawn care workers roamed about, potential targets for our wild throws, and military flyovers cast shadows upon us, as if they were keeping a watchful eye on our pirate antics.
Our Cook, Mike Mui, seemed possessed by a berserker spirit, his throws wild and unpredictable. On Hole 1, he took aim and, with a savage throw, hit a police car. “I don’t give a flying f***. Don’t get in my way,” he bellowed, undeterred by his misfires. The crew began to whisper amongst themselves, wondering if it might be time to make Mui walk the plank or lock him up below deck if he couldn’t contain his violent streak.

CTP Challenge
The first challenge of the day was the CTP on Hole 1. Our Gunner, Shelly Jackson, triumphed, landing his disc 33 feet from the pin, besting both Sailing Master Brosam and Ship Captain McCormick by 6 feet. Shelly claimed a black divergent putter as his prize.
Trials and Tribulations
The course proved to be a formidable foe. On Hole 4, Ship Captain McCormick and Cook Mui found themselves in dire straits, missing the Mando and incurring a penalty rethrow. Their woes were compounded when both missed short putts, leading to a double bogey. McCormick, with a sigh, muttered, “I reckon the Mando has a vendetta against us today, matey.”
Sailing Master Tommy Brosam unleashed a powerful throw on Hole 5, sending his disc 200 feet beyond the basket. Quartermaster Jasper Gutierrez, frustrated, shouted, “That’s too much, Tommy!” Tommy struggled to rein in his mighty arm, replying, “Aye, I be a bit too eager to send it to the moon!”
Unforeseen Hazards
By Hole 8, a new strategy emerged for Team Mumick – letting Mui find his own way. Without guidance, Mui’s shots improved, baffling the crew. “Seems like the less ye tell me, the better I throw!” Mui laughed, his eyes gleaming with a wild light that unsettled the crew further.
On Hole 9, Jasper claimed the wind was playing tricks, causing random pop-ups that vexed our throws. “The wind be a sneaky devil today,” he grumbled.

“Looks like we’ve struck a treasure trove!”
Master-at-arms Ernest Huizar
Meanwhile, one of Huizar and Bonsky’s caddies, young Easton, delighted us all by finding a lost disc and an astonishing 375 golf balls, which he gleefully dumped out on Hole 12. “Looks like we’ve struck a treasure trove!” laughed Huizar.
The Final Stretch
As the round continued, tensions ran high. On Hole 13, Mui’s rogue putt struck Helms-woman Megan Gilmore in the back of the head. A dark look crossed her face, and she muttered, “Mui, ye best sleep with ye unpatched eye open tonight.” The crew’s whispers grew louder, debating whether Mui’s violent outbursts warranted drastic measures.

Navigating through the rough seas of Hole 14, McCormick and Mui resorted to mere pitch-outs to avoid the dreaded poison ivy. On Hole 15, Shelly Jackson redeemed the day with a monster upshot, sinking a long putt from over 25 feet. “That be how ye finish strong!” cheered Jackson.
Alas, our Ship Captain McCormick had to leave early after Hole 16, but the remaining crew pressed on, finishing the course with grit and determination.
The Tale’s End
‘Twas a day of fierce competition, wild throws, and hearty laughter. Each round brings new challenges, forging bonds among our pirate crew. But as we sail on, the question remains: can Mike Mui rein in his fiery temper, or will he face the consequences of his rogue behavior?
Until the next adventure, may yer discs fly true and yer spirits remain high!
Fair winds and following seas,
The PUTT PIRATES
