Clash o’ the Bag Tags: Battle at Newport News Park
Ahoy, me hearties! The skies were clear, the weather fair, and the winds calm as we set sail on the Newport News Park course. A fine crew we had today: Quartermaster Jasper, Gunner Shelly, Boatswain Stef, and meself, Ship Captain Patrick. The day promised a battle o’ skill, but we chose not to draw from the RIPT deck. Instead, we sailed a more peaceful route—singles play, short to longs, takin’ on the new basket placements where available.
The round was lighthearted, but the new placements brought a fair bit o’ challenge. Most o’ the day, we were neck and neck, none willing to give an inch. But as always, the seas be full o’ twists, and it all came down to the final hole—Hole 18, where the fiercest battle fer bag tags raged.
The fate o’ the #1 and #2 tags was decided when I, yer Captain, missed me final putt, allowin’ Quartermaster Jasper to reign victorious and keep his #1 bag tag. A hard-fought match, indeed! But the excitement didn’t end there, mateys. Hole 18 also determined the outcome between Gunner Shelly and Boatswain Stef. With a solid play, Shelly claimed the #3 bag tag, leavin’ Stef reluctantly to take the #5.
‘Twas a grand day on the course with mighty fine shots from all! Until the next round, may the winds guide yer discs true!
