Friday, October 17 – Departure & Loriella Park

Our journey begins with a trek to Loriella Park, nestled in the heart of Spotsylvania County. This 18-hole course offers a balanced mix of open fields and wooded fairways, challenging players of all skill levels. Be prepared for elevation changes and the infamous water hazard on hole 10.

The day begins at Cannon Ridge, a private course renowned for its diverse terrain and meticulously maintained fairways. With elevation changes and tight wooded lines, it’s a true test of skill.

Voted #63 Best Disc Golf Course in the World, Cannon Ridge Disc Golf Course, located at 6309 Cannon Ridge Court in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is a private 18-hole course renowned for its challenging terrain and scenic beauty. Established in 2015, the course was designed by Doug Jones and features a mix of wooded and open holes, utilizing the natural topography to create a diverse playing experience. The first 11 holes are characterized by hilly, wooded areas requiring technical shots, while the final seven holes are flatter and more open, allowing for powerful drives. The course is equipped with a variety of tee surfaces, including turf, asphalt, concrete, dirt, grass, and rubber mats, and features DISCatcher Super Sport targets.

After a hearty lunch, we’ll venture to Wilderness Ridge, located within the Wilderness Presidential Resort. This 18-hole wooded course offers a serene setting with technical challenges aplenty.

Established in 2024 and designed by John Biscoe, the course spans 5,235 feet through dense woodlands, providing a serene yet challenging environment. The layout features a mix of hole lengths, with 11 under 300 feet, four between 300-400 feet, and three exceeding 400 feet, catering to a variety of skill levels. Players navigate through tight fairways and natural obstacles, making precision and strategy essential for a successful round.

Surrounded by forest and bordered by Lake Curtis, it offers a serene yet challenging finale to our weekend adventureβ€”an ideal setting for one last battle before we sail home.

Curtis Memorial Park, located at 58 Jesse Curtis Lane in Hartwood, Virginia, is a cherished recreational area offering a diverse range of activities. The park features an 18-hole disc golf course, known for its tight yet fair wooded fairways and varying elevations, providing a challenging experience for players of all skill levels. Established in 2016, the course boasts three sets of concrete tee padsβ€”Amateur, Intermediate, and Proβ€”and is equipped with Mach X targets.
